IL HB4279

Amends the Department of Natural Resources Act to authorize the Department to accept and administer federal grant funds for development or preservation of recreational boating infrastructure on Illinois waterways.

Requires the Department to distribute federal boating infrastructure funds as prescribed by the appropriate federal agency.

Creates the Natural Resources Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant Dollars Fund as a special fund in the State treasury to deposit and manage federal boating grant funds.

Allows interest or income earned on moneys in the boating infrastructure fund to be retained and used by the Department for the purposes specified in this subsection.

Amends the State Finance Act by adding a new section establishing the Natural Resources Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant Dollars Fund.
