HB4308 Summary

• Changes the timing requirement for written notice of honorable dismissal of teachers from at least 45 days before end of school term to no more than 10 business days following the General Assembly's passage of a State budget that includes school funding for the fiscal year in which the dismissal takes effect.

• Provides an alternative deadline of June 30 of the current fiscal year if no State budget including school funding for the next fiscal year has been passed by the General Assembly by June 15.

• Applies to teachers removed or dismissed due to school board decisions to decrease the number of teachers employed, discontinue particular types of teaching services, or reduce programs or positions in special education joint agreements.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
