HB4328 Summary

• Transfers administration of the Illinois Motor Carrier Safety Law from the Department of Transportation (in conjunction with the Department of State Police) to the Department of State Police alone.

• Transfers administration of the Illinois Hazardous Materials Transportation Act from the Department of Transportation to the Department of State Police.

• Appropriates $20,000,000 annually from the Road Fund to the Department of State Police beginning fiscal year 2019 to administer both the Motor Carrier Safety Law and Hazardous Materials Safety Act.

• Eliminates all other Road Fund appropriations to the Department of State Police beyond the $20,000,000 authorization for these two specific programs.

• Effective July 1, 2018.
