State Board of Education shall incorporate a standardized definition of dyslexia in both general and special education curricula, defining it as a neurobiological learning disability affecting word recognition, spelling, and decoding abilities.

State Board of Education shall develop and maintain a handbook on dyslexia to be posted on its website with guidance for students, parents, guardians, and teachers on identifying dyslexia signs and evidence-based educational strategies.

Handbook shall include guidelines for identifying dyslexia, descriptions of educational strategies to improve academic performance, and available resources and services for students with dyslexia and their families.

State Board of Education shall review the dyslexia handbook every 4 years to update guidelines, strategies, and available resources as needed.

An advisory group was established to develop teacher training modules on multi-sensory, systematic, and sequential reading instruction, with work to be completed by December 31, 2016.
