IL HB4409

Amends the definition of "school psychologist" in Illinois School Code Section 14-1.09 to accept a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential as an alternative qualification path.

Removes the requirement that NCSP credential holders must meet additional qualifications specified by the State Board of Education.

Maintains the requirement that all school psychologists must hold a Professional Educator License with a school psychologist endorsement issued pursuant to Section 21B-25.

Confirms school psychologists can evaluate, recommend, and intervene regarding student placement in educational and special education programs for children ages 3 to 21.

Prohibits school psychologists from providing services outside their employment to students in their employing district(s).
