IL HB4426

Amends the Election Code to modify early voting hours at permanent polling places during the final period before elections.

Requires permanent polling places for early voting to remain open no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day before election day.

Maintains existing early voting periods from the 40th day before an election through the end of the day before election day.

Allows election authorities to close early voting polling places only if the building has been closed by the State or local government due to severe weather emergency or force majeure, with required notification to the State Board of Elections.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
