IL HB4470

Amends the Township Code (60 ILCS 1/80-10) to restrict township board meetings for examining and auditing accounts to special meetings held solely for compliance purposes, rather than allowing meetings at any time the board determines.

Limits the calling of meetings upon request of the supervisor or any 2 board members to meetings for the sole purpose of compliance with account examination and audit requirements.

Requires township clerk to provide board members with at least 48 hours' notice before special meetings and mandates public notice be provided in the same manner as other special meetings under Section 35-10.

Allows township boards to declare a vacancy in supervisor or trustee positions if the official has 5 or more consecutive unexcused absences from regularly scheduled board meetings.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
