Requires trustees to complete 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years following the initial training period, with at least 4 hours annually focused on fiduciary duties and trustee ethics.

Mandates that at least 8 hours of biennial training must be live classroom instruction or interactive online training with verified participation; remaining hours may include board hearings and applicable training from other organizations.

Allows police officers, firefighters, and municipal employees serving as trustees to attend training without losing accrued leave or benefit time, with costs paid by the pension fund.

Exempts implementation from state reimbursement requirements under the State Mandates Act and takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
