Amends the Illinois Pension Code to allow paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMT), EMT-intermediate (EMT-I), and advanced emergency medical technicians (A-EMT) employed full-time by participating municipalities to be granted Sheriff's Law Enforcement Employee (SLEP) status under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Requires municipal governing authority approval through an affirmative resolution to grant SLEP status, which must specify that the status applies to employment occurring on or after resolution adoption.

Makes the SLEP status resolution irrevocable once adopted, preventing municipalities from rescinding the benefit designation.

Only applies to individuals ineligible to participate in downstate firefighter pension funds established under Article 4 of the Illinois Pension Code.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage.
