IL HB4606

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act to prohibit political fundraising functions in Sangamon County on any day the legislature is in session for executive branch constitutional officers, General Assembly members, candidates for these offices, political caucuses, and political committees.

Exempts members of the General Assembly whose legislative or representative district is entirely within Sangamon County and candidates for the General Assembly from that district from the prohibition on fundraising in Sangamon County during legislative sessions.

Clarifies that the legislature is not considered in session on perfunctory session days or when only a committee is meeting.

Removes previous language that limited the fundraising prohibition to specific time periods (February 1 through spring session adjournment and fall veto session).
