IL HB4741

Requires each committed person to receive 7 visits per month and permits submission of a list of at least 30 authorized visitors to be maintained electronically by the Department beginning August 1, 2019.

Prohibits the Department from restricting or limiting in-person visits due to availability of video conferencing services.

Mandates the Department issue a standard written visitation policy for each institution that specifies the number of in-person visits per week and month, visiting hours, and identification requirements for visitors.

Requires the Department to post daily on its website any visitation restrictions or denials for that day and the succeeding 5 calendar days to inform family members and visitors.
