IL HB4803

Creates the Local Government Transparency Act to establish separation of duties in local government financial oversight.

Prohibits mayors, presidents, vice presidents, chairmen, directors, or chief administrators of local government units from serving as treasurer of that same unit, whether appointed or elected.

Requires existing officials who currently hold both a leadership position and treasurer role to comply with this separation requirement within 90 days of the Act's effective date.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
