IL HB4835

Amends the School Code to add Section 2-3.84a regarding withholding of evidence-based funding based on property tax assessment failures.

Requires the State Board of Education to withhold a school district's evidence-based funding for any school year when the chief county assessment officer for any portion of the district intentionally fails to properly and accurately prepare property assessments under the Property Tax Code for the preceding levy year.

Withholding continues until the State Board of Education determines that the assessments have been correctly prepared.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
