• Allows township land commissioners or trustees of schools to authorize the sale of common school lands to government entities by resolution, bypassing existing statutory restrictions in Section 15-7.

• Requires two-thirds approval of township land commissioners or trustees of schools currently holding office to authorize such a sale.

• Requires a certified copy of the approval resolution to be delivered to the regional superintendent of schools within 7 days, who then completes the sale and issues a certificate of purchase to the government entity.

• Permits government entities that purchase common school lands to obtain replacement certificates of purchase or patents by filing affidavits proving loss or destruction of originals along with a copy of the certified resolution filed with the county recorder of deeds.

• Replacement certificates or patents shall have the same effect as originals and reflect the transfer of title date as the date the resolution was filed with the county recorder of deeds.
