HB5120 Summary

• Amends the State Comptroller Act to require the Business Enterprise Council to provide the Comptroller with information necessary to fulfill responsibilities under the Minority Contractor Opportunity Initiative.

• Changes the Comptroller's annual reporting requirement from calendar year to fiscal year basis for the preceding year's progress on the initiative.

• Requires each Chief Procurement Officer to provide the Comptroller with information necessary to fulfill responsibilities under the initiative, including identification of small businesses.

• Adds the State Comptroller as a member of the Business Enterprise Council for Minorities, Women, and Persons with Disabilities.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
