Allows the Policemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund board to reconsider applications for service credit that were submitted between January 1, 1992 and April 1, 2008 and were previously denied.

Service credit under Section 5-214(c) (for safety or investigative work performed for county, state, or federal government) applies to applications submitted during the specified time period that were initially rejected.

Police officers must remain in sworn status and meet professional standards of their public employer or statutory requirements while on leave to qualify for service credit.

The State is exempt from reimbursing any costs associated with implementing this amendatory act under the State Mandates Act.
