IL HB5276

Removes language allowing officers and board members of common interest community associations to automatically succeed themselves for additional terms.

Requires that succession of board members and officers be determined by community instruments (declaration, bylaws, or operating agreements).

Allows community instruments to include provisions limiting the number of terms a board member or officer may serve.

Maintains existing requirement that no board member or officer serve a term exceeding 4 years.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
