Allows a home rule municipality to petition a court to disconnect its territory from a fire protection district if the municipality's fire department serves at least 80% of the municipality.

Requires the municipality to demonstrate that disconnection will not make remaining district territory noncontiguous and will not impair the district's ability to provide adequate fire protection service.

Disconnected territory remains liable for its proportionate share of any bonded indebtedness outstanding as of the disconnection date.

Requires a court hearing with at least 2 weeks' notice, making the fire protection district a necessary party to the proceedings, and allows property owners and interested parties to file objections and present evidence.

If the court finds the petition complies with requirements and allegations are true, it shall enter an order detaching the property from the district, which then becomes serviced by the municipality.
