IL HB5477

Amends the Animal Welfare Act to require animal shelters and animal control facilities to report intake and outcome statistics as part of their annual license renewal applications.

Requires reporting of beginning inventory and intake statistics by species, categorized by source: owner surrender, stray, impound, confiscation, transfer from Illinois licensees, transfer from out-of-state, transfer from outside the United States, or born in facility.

Requires reporting of outcome statistics by species, categorized by result: returned to owner, placed or sold, euthanized, euthanized at owner request, died in custody, transferred within-state, transferred out-of-state, missing/stolen/escaped, or released through trap-neuter-release programs.

Requires reporting of ending inventory count by species at the end of the calendar year.

Takes effect January 1, 2019.
