Amends the School Code to require every public elementary and high school to include curriculum instruction on the significant role and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals in society, including in government, arts, sciences, mathematics, sports, and education.

Specifies that LGBT history instruction shall teach that all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression have the right to be treated with civil, legal, and human rights.

Allows school districts to involve openly LGBT adults, including school employees, in developing and delivering LGBT instruction at the discretion of those individuals.

Authorizes the State Board of Education to post recommended resources and educational materials on its website to assist school boards in developing the required LGBT curriculum instruction.

Takes effect July 1, 2019, and allows individual school boards to determine the minimum amount of instructional time required for this curriculum unit.
