IL HB5723

Amends the Property Tax Code by adding Section 18-184.15 to allow taxing districts to abate any portion of their taxes on urban agricultural property.

Requires a majority vote of a taxing district's governing authority before ordering the county clerk to abate taxes on qualifying property.

Defines "urban agricultural property" as public or private property within municipality corporate boundaries used to produce agricultural plants, poultry, or livestock.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
