Encourages the Illinois State Board of Education and school districts to support the attendance awareness campaign "Every Student Counts, Every Day Matters" promoted by the Illinois Attendance Commission.

Recognizes that chronic absenteeism negatively impacts student achievement, graduation rates, and future educational and life outcomes.

Notes that students with documented disabilities and homeless youth experience higher rates of chronic absenteeism than their peers.

Identifies that family involvement and community engagement reduce chronic absenteeism and improve school attendance, suspension rates, and graduation rates.

States that regular school attendance promotes college and career readiness and increases the likelihood of students earning quality degrees and credentials.
