Urges school administrators, teachers, parents, and students to be educated about health impacts of heavy backpacks and take proactive measures to prevent injuries.

Permits Doctors of Chiropractic to conduct mandatory interval scoliosis examinations on children.

Recommends schools work with Parent-Teacher Associations and Organizations to assess student backpack weight and promote homework strategies that reduce the need to carry materials daily.

Suggests schools adopt backpack education guidelines including: maximum weight of 10% of child's body weight, ergonomic design with padded straps, use of both shoulder straps, leaving heaviest books at school, transitioning to e-textbooks, and using classroom scales to track backpack weights.

Directs delivery of resolution to State Superintendent of Education.
