Designates February 19-25, 2017 as Grain Bin Safety Week in Illinois to promote awareness of grain bin hazards and safe work practices.

Notes that over 900 grain bin entrapments have been reported in the past 50 years with a 62% fatality rate, including 22 entrapments and at least 11 fatalities in 2015.

Recognizes that routine inspections of grain bins, dryers, wagons, augers, and related equipment, along with emergency action plans, can reduce grain-related injuries and deaths.

Acknowledges Grain Bin Safety Week as an annual collaborative effort first organized by Nationwide Agribusiness in 2014 that occurs during the third full week of February.

Recognizes the involvement of multiple organizations including Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Farm Safety For Just Kids, the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety, and other industry leaders in promoting grain bin safety.
