Calls for the hearing to evaluate the effectiveness of these organizations in protecting developmentally disabled individuals and ensure proper use of federal funds

References recent findings of abuse and neglect at community integrated living arrangements (CILAs) to justify the need for federal oversight and accountability

Requests that the Illinois General Assembly enact legislation based on hearing results to ensure developmentally disabled residents of Illinois are supported by the highest quality advocacy groups
