Government Pension Offset causes affected public employees to lose an average of $3,000 per year and eliminates spousal benefits despite spouses' Social Security contributions.

Windfall Elimination Provision reduces public employee benefits by up to 60% of earned benefits.

Social Security Administration actuaries determined the long-term cost of eliminating both provisions is negligible while these provisions force some civil servants into poverty.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to President Trump, congressional leadership, and all members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation.
