Designates April 2017 as Organ Donor Registration Month in Illinois to promote awareness of organ donation and encourage registration

Recognizes that more than 118,000 people are currently waiting for organ transplants, with 22 people dying daily while waiting and one person added to the list every 10 minutes

Notes that one organ donor can save up to eight lives and enable up to 79 organ transplants, while a single tissue donor can save or heal up to 50 people

Encourages Illinois residents age 18 and older to register as organ donors when applying for or renewing driver's licenses or ID cards

Honors those who have lost their lives waiting for transplants, celebrates transplant recipients, and thanks organ donors
