Urges Congress to adopt a 2018 Farm Bill that supports and promotes development of local and regional food systems in Illinois.

Recognizes growing consumer demand for locally and regionally-produced farm and food products and farmer interest in meeting this demand.

Identifies local and regional food economies as vital sources of employment and tools to address health issues including hunger, malnutrition, obesity, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.

States that farm bill policies, programs, and funding should advance environmental sustainability, economic development, public health, racial and social justice, and emergency preparedness.

Directs delivery of the resolution to President Trump, Congressional leaders, and all members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation.
