Designates October 12, 2017 as "Illinois Great Apple Crunch Day" to celebrate fresh, local apples from the Midwest.

Encourages Illinois schools to participate by serving locally-grown apples in school cafeterias and having students eat them together as a school community.

Supports Farm to School programs that educate students about the connection between healthy food, local farmers, and agriculture.

Recognizes the Illinois Farm to School Network, Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom program, Illinois Farm Bureau, and Illinois Specialty Growers Association for promoting local agriculture in schools.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois State Board of Education, and Illinois School Nutrition Association.
