Designates February 18-24, 2018 as Grain Bin Safety Week in Illinois to promote awareness of grain bin safety hazards and prevention practices.

Documents that over 900 grain bin entrapments have been reported in the past 50 years with a 62% fatality rate, including 24 entrapments with 14 deaths in 2015 and 38 entrapments with 17 deaths in 2014.

Recognizes that education, routine equipment inspections, and emergency action plans can reduce preventable grain-related injuries and fatalities on farms and commercial grain-handling facilities.

Acknowledges Grain Bin Safety Week as an annual observance first organized by Nationwide Agribusiness in 2014, occurring during the third full week of February as a collaborative effort by industry leaders and agricultural professionals.

Recognizes the involvement of multiple organizations including Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, National Education Center for Agricultural Safety, and various insurance and agribusiness companies in promoting grain bin safety.
