Declares April 10, 2018 as Pay Equity Day in Illinois to raise awareness about wage inequality between men and women.

Notes that women earn approximately 80 cents for every dollar earned by men, with even greater disparities for women of color (African American women earn 63 cents and Latina women earn 54 cents on the dollar).

Recognizes that the gender pay gap begins within one year after college graduation and has long-term effects on women's economic security, retirement savings, and Social Security earnings.

Acknowledges that Equal Pay Day was originated in 1996 by the National Committee on Pay Equity to illustrate how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.

Affirms that pay equity is linked to poverty eradication and maintaining a highly-motivated workforce essential to national productivity and global competitiveness.
