Illinois House of Representatives adopts the Tennessee House Joint Resolution 583, which failed twice in Tennessee, to condemn white nationalism and neo-Nazism as threats to social and racial progress.

Resolution denounces the totalitarian impulses, violent terrorism, xenophobic biases, and bigoted ideologies promoted by white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups.

Urges law enforcement to recognize white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups as terrorist organizations and pursue their criminal elements with the same vigor applied to other forms of terrorism.

Affirms that Illinois will not tolerate discrimination or hate in any form and stands united to promote equality for all residents.

Requires copies of the resolution be sent to the President, U.S. Congress members, governors and legislatures of both Illinois and Tennessee.
