Commends Blake James Dale Kinnett of Alvin, Illinois, a high school student and accomplished athlete, for his courage and determination following his February 2017 diagnosis with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a genetic disease that destroys the protective myelin sheath surrounding brain neurons.

Recognizes Kinnett's athletic achievements as a two-time State Champion in baseball by age 12, a player for the Iliana Chiefs team in Cooperstown, New York, and a basketball player for whom "Kinnett's Court" was named in Alvin.

Acknowledges that ALD affects 1 in 18,000 people, primarily boys and men, with no current cure available.

Commends the Kinnett family and the Alvin community for their unwavering support of Blake during his diagnosis and treatment.

Directs presentation of a suitable copy of this resolution to Blake Kinnett and his family as a symbol of the House's esteem and respect.
