Richard "Dick" Lindholm passed away on October 26, 2018, and the Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Lindholm was born in Chicago on October 25, 1927, graduated from Geneva High School in 1945, served in the U.S. Army, and attended Aurora College and the University of Chicago School of Business.

Lindholm served as alderman for Geneva from 1959 to 1965, as mayor of Geneva from 1965 to 1973, and as Geneva Township Supervisor.

During his tenure as mayor, Geneva created its first zoning ordinance and future land use map, and became the first town in Illinois to develop a land-cash ordinance requiring developers to pay for utility extensions to new subdivisions.

Lindholm is survived by his wife of 70 years, four daughters, one son-in-law, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and other family members.
