Congratulates State Rep. Mike Fortner on his retirement and recognizes his years of service to Illinois.

Rep. Fortner served 12 years in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 95th District and then the 49th Legislative District.

Sponsored legislation on electric power allowing municipalities to buy power for residents, protected privacy rights against unauthorized recording and social media password misuse, and negotiated improvements to electronics recycling.

Worked on pension reform, clean energy initiatives, the Small Wireless Facilities Act (2017), automatic voter registration (HB 6582), and supported term limits and fair map redistricting.

Received Environmental Leadership Awards from the Illinois Environmental Council in 2013, 2016, and 2018, and was named 2018 Legislator of the Year by the Metro West Council of Governments.
