Congratulates State Rep. Brian W. Stewart on his retirement from the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 89th District and his transition to the Illinois State Senate.

Recognizes Stewart's background as a fifth-generation northwest Illinois native who grew up in public housing and served in the U.S. Army (1975-1978) as a military policeman and investigator.

Honors his career as a Stephenson County Sheriff's Deputy and founder of Stewart & Associates, Inc., which employs over 500 people and manages over 20 businesses primarily in Freeport.

Acknowledges his service as State Representative beginning in October 2013, focusing on regulatory, agricultural, and law enforcement issues to create jobs, and his work on multiple House committees including Judiciary, Agriculture & Conservation, and Public Safety.

Recognizes his extensive community involvement as former United Way chairman, Rotary Club member, and participant in various civic organizations including AMVETS Post 32 and the FHN Foundation.
