The Illinois House of Representatives congratulates St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the Village of St. Peter on its 150th anniversary.

The congregation was officially organized on January 8, 1869, after settlers in Southeast Fayette County hired Pastor J.F. Schnurre to conduct services.

Samuel Fogler donated land on May 25, 1869, where a church, park, and parsonage were built; a school was later established and still operates as St. Peter's Lutheran School.

The congregation constructed three church buildings, with the third building dedicated on May 28, 1950, after outgrowing the original structure.

A suitable copy of the resolution shall be presented to Reverend Ryan Meyer in recognition of the church's long tradition of spiritual, educational, and charitable service to the surrounding area.
