Congratulates Representative Emily McAsey on her retirement from the Illinois House of Representatives after serving from January 2009 to June 2017.

McAsey represented the 85th District, which included the communities of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Lockport, Romeoville, and Woodridge.

Prior to her election as state representative, McAsey worked as a teacher and criminal prosecutor in the Will County State's Attorney's Office.

During her tenure, McAsey focused on legislation addressing community safety, domestic abuse survivor protections, environmental preservation, and consumer safety, while providing constituent services including an annual Senior Celebration.

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Representative McAsey as an expression of esteem and respect.
