IL SB0644

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act to require the Executive Ethics Commission to make summary reports and agency responses available to the public within 60 days when discipline results in suspension of at least 3 days or termination of employment.

Allows the Executive Inspector General to make summary reports publicly available if the Executive Ethics Commission does not do so.

Requires redaction of information that may reveal the identity of witnesses, complainants, or informants before publication.

Mandates that prior to publication, the Commission or Executive Inspector General must permit respondents, the opposing party (Inspector General or Commission), and the Attorney General to review documents, suggest redactions, and provide written responses to be published with the report.

Allows the Commission to withhold publication if the Executive Inspector General or Attorney General certifies that releasing the report will interfere with an ongoing investigation.
