Physicians must report to the Secretary of State any medical condition of a driver likely to cause loss of consciousness or inability to safely operate a motor vehicle within 10 days of becoming aware of the condition.

The Secretary of State, working with the Driver's License Medical Advisory Board, shall determine by administrative rule which temporary conditions are exempt from the reporting requirement.

All information reported to the Secretary of State under this requirement is confidential and for the Secretary's privileged use only.

Physicians who make required reports under this section are immune from civil or criminal liability for motor vehicle accidents caused by the reported medical condition.

The bill is titled "Vanessa's Law" and amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987.
