IL SB0720

Extends the deadline for objecting to personal jurisdiction from prior to filing any pleading to within 90 days after filing an appearance.

Eliminates the automatic waiver of jurisdiction objections that previously occurred when a party filed a responsive pleading before filing a motion to dismiss or quash service of process.

Adds new provision stating that participating in litigation shall not be deemed a waiver of objections to the court's jurisdiction over the party's person.

Removes the prior rule that error in ruling against a jurisdiction objection is waived by the party's further participation in proceedings (except for objections based on lack of amenability to service).

Applies to all actions filed on or after the effective date, with the Act taking effect immediately upon becoming law.
