State Board of Education must prepare and distribute state, school district, and school report cards annually by October 31 to all Illinois school districts.

School report cards must include minimum data on school characteristics, student demographics, curriculum offerings, student outcomes, student progress, and school environment indicators.

Report cards must display total and per-pupil state contributions to the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois and, for Chicago Public Schools, contributions to the Public School Teachers' Pension and Retirement Fund.

School districts must present report cards at a public board meeting, post them on the district website (if available), provide copies to newspapers, and send written notice to parents within 30 days of receipt from the State Superintendent.

State Superintendent has discretion to amend or update metrics on school, district, and state report cards in consultation with education stakeholders.
