IL SB1232

Amends Section 10-20.24 of the School Code regarding part-time attendance by nonpublic school pupils in public school district programs.

Allows resident pupils enrolled in nonpublic schools to participate in interscholastic athletic activities offered by public school districts if the activity is not available at their nonpublic school.

Requires nonpublic school pupils participating in district athletic activities to pay the same fees charged to public school pupils for those activities.

Maintains existing requirement that requests for part-time attendance in the following school year must be submitted by the nonpublic school principal to the public school before May 1.

Limits requests to public schools located in the school district where the child attending the nonpublic school resides.
