IL SB1253

Establishes January 1, 2027 as the sunset date for the Film Production Services Tax Credit Act of 2008, after which taxpayers cannot claim credits for tax years beginning on or after that date.

Removes the provision allowing the General Assembly to extend the sunset date by 5-year intervals after an initial 10-year period.

Replaces the previous sunset mechanism (10 years from the effective date of the 97th General Assembly's amendatory act) with a fixed date of January 1, 2027.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
