IL SB1263

Amends the Open Meetings Act to require public bodies to permit any person to address public officials with comments or questions at each regular or special open meeting, subject to reasonable constraints.

Requires public bodies to provide answers to questions asked during open meetings within a reasonable amount of time not to exceed 45 days.

Maintains existing requirements for public bodies to keep written minutes of all meetings and verbatim records of closed meetings in audio or video format.

Preserves confidentiality protections for closed session minutes and recordings, with limited access for elected and appointed officials.
