Reenacts Section 4-11001 of the Counties Code to restore juror fee provisions that were invalidated by the Illinois Supreme Court in Kakos v. Butler, 2016 IL 120377, which found Public Act 98-1132 unconstitutional.

Restores juror daily fees at $4 for first-class counties, $5 for second-class counties, and $10 for third-class counties, with county boards authorized to set higher amounts.

Reinstates provisions requiring counties to pay jurors at least 10 cents per mile for travel expenses and allowing judges to order reimbursement for actual day care costs incurred during jury service.

Reenacts Section 2-1105 of the Code of Civil Procedure to restore jury demand procedures and provides that cases with damages of $50,000 or less are tried by juries of 6 unless a party demands a jury of 12, with fees for 6-person juries set at half the cost of 12-person juries.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
