IL SB1300

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to add a new exemption allowing full-time, sworn, and compensated firefighters to carry concealed pistols, revolvers, stun guns, tasers, or other firearms while on duty.

Firefighters must have a valid concealed carry license and receive approval to carry on duty from the mayor, city council, village president, or village board of trustees.

The exemption applies to subsections 24-1(a)(4) and 24-1(a)(10) of the Criminal Code, which restrict carrying weapons in certain locations and circumstances.

Also includes minor technical corrections to the statute, changing "ordinance" to "ordnance" in references to military equipment.
