IL SB1307

Amends the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act to establish that secretaries, assistants, or similarly positioned staff to persons who formulate, determine, and effectuate labor relations policy are presumed to be "confidential employees."

Defines persons who formulate, determine, and effectuate labor relations policy as: (i) mayors, village presidents, county board presidents, or other chief executive officers of local government units, and (ii) village or city managers, administrators, or equivalent positions in any local government unit.

Applies only to counties with populations exceeding 500,000 and municipalities located wholly or partly within such counties.

Preserves the employee status of individuals covered by collective bargaining agreements as of the effective date of this amendment.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
