IL SB1342

Creates new criminal offense in Illinois Criminal Code prohibiting knowingly allowing African elephants (Loxodonta Africana) or Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) to participate in traveling animal acts.

Defines "traveling animal act" as any performance where animals are transported to, from, or between locations in mobile housing facilities (trucks, trailers, railway cars) for entertainment purposes.

Excludes exhibitions of elephants at permanent, non-mobile institutions or facilities from the prohibition.

Establishes unlawful use of an elephant in a traveling animal act as a Class A misdemeanor offense.
