IL SB1357

Extends park police officer authority to include property within 300 feet of the boundary of park district real property, in addition to park district property itself.

Maintains existing exceptions allowing park police to exercise authority beyond park boundaries in cases of fresh pursuit or under validly executed intergovernmental cooperation agreements.

Park police officers retain authority to arrest for violations of state criminal law, city/town/village ordinances, park district ordinances, and breaches of the peace.

Officers at park district airports have additional authority to enforce federal agency rules and federal, state, or local laws relating to airport operations.

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
